Your first visit

Nothing here will surprise you

Everything that happens in your first appointment, in order — including what it costs and whether it will hurt.

About four minutes to read. You do not have to book anything to read it.

The six questions people ask

Read the bold and stop, or keep going

Will it hurt?

Not without warning.

Some treatment is uncomfortable. You are told before anything is done, and it stops the moment you say stop.

Do I need a referral?

No. Book directly.

If you have scans or a doctor’s letter, bring them. If you do not, that is normal and nothing is delayed.

What do I wear?

Whatever you can move in.

Shorts or leggings and a t-shirt are ideal. Gowns are available if you would rather change here.

How long does it take?

Longer than a follow-up.

First appointments run longer, because most of the first one is talking. Exact duration

What does it cost?

Payment happens after, not before.

You are told the price before anything is booked, and again before treatment starts. First-session price and methods

Can someone come with me?

Yes, always.

A partner, a parent or a friend can stay in the room for the whole appointment.

Minute by minute

From the door to the pavement

  1. 0 min

    You arrive

Someone is expecting you by name. You sit down. Nobody asks you to fill in a form standing up.

  2. 5 min

    We talk

Clothes on, sitting down. What happened, what hurts, what you are trying to get back to.

  3. 15 min

    Assessment

Movement, strength, a few tests. Everything is explained before it happens.

  4. 30 min

    Treatment starts

Hands-on work, and you learn one or two things to do at home.

  5. End

    You leave with a plan

Written down, in plain words, including what to do tonight and when to come back.

You are in charge of all of it

You can ask what something is for, ask to pause, ask to keep your clothes on, or ask for a different practitioner. None of it is awkward and none of it is unusual.

The room you will be in
